Following write-up is a quick summary of one of our favourite destination wedding in Jodhpur.

Everyone dreams of an opulent, big fat Indian wedding; one that’s truly unforgettable for the couple as well as all their beloved guests. Since marriages are made in heaven, and it is arguably one of the biggest days of your life, it’s only fair that you want to make this special event truly extravagant (more so when it’s a destination wedding in Jodhpur, a royal city in Rajasthan).

Theme Weavers received a similar request from our client as they planned their destination wedding in Jodhpur, for a spectacular western wedding theme décor that was rich and luxurious. It had to be out of the ordinary too; a run-of-the-mill concept that would wow everyone who was present. The venue of the wedding was Jodhpur, and it goes without saying that royalty was going to play a huge role in the theme!

So, being the creatives that we are, we started to think of designs that would nail the client’s brief. We couldn’t settle for anything less, we knew that. So, how do we go about conceptualizing a grand wedding theme décor that’s usually just seen in dreams? It didn’t take us too long to find the answer.

The Great Gatsby Theme it was going to be! The theme was based on the hugely popular bestselling novel and the movie of the same name, set in the 1970s in New York. Its main protagonist Jay Gatsby, the mysterious millionaire who throws grand parties in his gorgeous sprawling mansion, was the source of our inspiration. That led us to create this décor that was wonderfully glamorous and lavish, and western. Just like our client wanted.

So how did we convert our thoughts into reality? Take a look at how our Great Gatsby wedding decor idea was put into action in Jodhpur at the wedding that took place on a chilly evening in November 2016.

The Right Fusion of Colors

We chose a royal blue and gold colour palette, which was an apt choice for the occasion. It perfectly added a wow factor to the wedding, and lent a princely, affluent air to the entire event. A few accents in red enhanced the colour scheme.

Flowers for the perfect aesthetic appeal

Our flower choices were elegant, and flaunted vintage colours to complement the classic look depicted in the movie. White, green and pink dominated the alluring floral arrangements, which stood out on the guests tables, against the backdrops, and on pedestals spread across the event space.

Lights and Candles — The Classic Elements!

Keeping the look of Gatsby’s mansion, we picked spectacular hanging chandeliers with flameless candles to decorate the area. We also lined glass votive holders, with small candles inside them, along the centre of the tables paired with flowers.

Beads, Crystals and the intricate Backdrops!

Another element that dominated our Great Gatsby wedding theme decor was crystals, pearls and beads. We hung a grand crystal beaded chandelier above the stage, which sparkled beautifully in the blue tinted light. The beautifully and intricately designed backdrops were nothing short of artistic marvels.

After all the hard work and efforts we put in, it was time for us to reveal the décor to the client and they were mesmerized. We couldn’t be happier!

The evening was just as beautiful and magical as the couple had always dreamed of…and that’s what we at Theme Weavers always aspire to do!
