If you have been to a wedding in the past few years, you surely know about wedding registries. This is a very important part of the gift-giving process. A wedding registry is easier for the bride and groom to let their needs and wants to be known. It also makes gift-giving much easier for the guests.
There are a few things you need to keep in mind when creating your registries. We are going to give you some clues that will make the process go much smoother and ensure you get the gifts you want.
Start Early
It is never too early to start your wedding registry. It is perfectly acceptable to register online or in a store as soon as you become engaged.
Some of the people who are interested in your wedding (and life) will invest in your future. They may need time to make the selections and decisions regarding your gifts. Others may have a specific gift in mind. Maybe there is an item you always dreamed of having and they want to get it for you. They will appreciate the item being listed as “purchased” on your registry.
If you are planning a destination wedding, you may need specific items. If you are going to a tropical island in December and you want summer wear or scuba gear, it will be much easier for your guests to purchase them in the summer.
Have More Than One

Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For A Gift Card
If what you really want is to go on fun and unique adventures while you are on your honeymoon, say so. Make a list of the activities that you are interested in, and you can even list the prices if you want to. Add a line that simply reads, “Gift cards are appreciated.” This is perfectly acceptable, and they are an easy way for guests to pool their money to give you the adventures of your dreams.
